Perched along the eastern shore of Seneca Lake, Ventosa Vineyards brings a distinctly Italian sensibility to the Finger Lakes wine region. Founded in 2004 by the Cecere family, the winery was designed to evoke the feeling of a Tuscan estate—complete with a warm, Mediterranean-style tasting room, vineyard-lined views, and an emphasis on hospitality and food culture. As a 100% estate winery, Ventosa grows, produces, and bottles its wines entirely on-site, focusing on a diverse portfolio that includes both classic Finger Lakes varietals like Riesling and more European-inspired reds such as Sangiovese and Cabernet Franc. The result is a winery that blends Old World inspiration with the unique terroir of Seneca Lake, offering a relaxed but elevated experience centered around wine, cuisine, and scenic beauty.

Over the past two decades, Ventosa has built a strong reputation not only for its wines but for its overall guest experience. The winery has earned multiple medals at the prestigious New York Wine Classic and international competitions like the East Meets West Wine Challenge, including gold, silver, and bronze awards across several vintages—highlighting the quality and range of its portfolio. In addition to wine accolades, Ventosa has been recognized as a premier destination within the region, receiving the Seneca County Chamber of Commerce’s 2025 Wine & Beverage Award and being named a winner of The Knot “Best of Weddings” in 2026, reflecting consistent excellence in hospitality and events. With its combination of award-winning wines, Italian-inspired ambiance, and a vibrant food and events program, Ventosa continues to stand out as both a top-tier winery and a cultural gathering place in Geneva’s thriving Finger Lakes scene.
