Miche Fambro - Talk

Discussing his life and music with Wendy Fambro.

Having been invited to perform at the Geneva Jazz Festival, the documentary filmmakers will use this opportunity to interview Festival director, Michael Gonzalez, and engage the audience in Q&A around the meaning of music and art, the role of fans, and how success is defined; while viewing clips of the in-progress documentary and Miche performances (including the memorable flooded gig at Irene’s in Geneva…!). We invite you to come and be part of this organic, creative event as the Miche Fambro story continues to unfold.

Miche Fambro was an internationally revered guitarist/vocalist/songwriter whose musical versatility saw him headlining at Jazz, Folk, Blues and Guitar festivals. His career path found him performing in concert halls, cruise ships, coffeehouses, and living rooms across the US, Canada and Europe. He also had an ever-evolving online presence hosting a variety of music/sketch/”mocumentary” series. His fans followed him out of a fascination for his innovative guitar stylings (playing left-handed, with strings reversed), his fluid, soaring vocals, his poetic songwriting/story-telling skills, and his quirky, humble humor.

On December 18, 2020, in the midst of planning a return tour of Europe and on to Russia, Miche died suddenly from cancer. His wife, Wendy, who had been actively engaged with Miche’s career throughout their life together, chose to pick up where he left off, and to tell Miche’s story in the way that he envisioned.

She connected with the Hill&Valley Creative Film Studio and together, they are “completing” the documentary that Miche had begun. Much more than a tribute film, however, the documentary will follow Miche’s story as a way of inspiring, challenging, and revealing the impact of a human life when lived from its most authentic place.

ABOUT WENDY FAMBRO

Executive Producer, Writer

Wendy Fambro has a lifetime of professional experience in creative writing, public speaking, human services, and – most importantly – acting as agent/manager/roadie/camera-person for Miche.

After his death in December 2020, Wendy turned that energy toward creating a documentary film which, while honoring the life and legacy of Miche, would speak to a larger story – the human story.

Specifically, this film follows the evolution of an artist who lived from his most authentic self and died “in the midst of” that journey. Archival footage gives glimpses into Miche’s perspective (and music!), while interviews with family, musical colleagues and others consider the impact of his life’s motivation and legacy from alternative viewpoints, raising questions around the meaning of success, sacrifice, and the story that continues to live after our individual story ends.
