Mark Devokaitis (sax) + Janelle Bradshaw (trumpet) + Drew Serafini (guitar)

Finger Lakes Region jazz musicians gather in various combinations to form De Wayne Perry & Friends, sharing their passion for modern jazz (bebop, hardbop, and postbop) and deep reverence for its composers. You can see and hear De Wayne Perry & Friends in many Finger Lakes Region venues, such as WMC North Jazz Lounge in Elmira, The Downstairs in Ithaca, Americana Vineyards in Interlaken, and the Rooster Fish Pub in Watkins Glen.

Mark Devokaitis

Since moving to the Finger Lakes region from Boston 10 years ago, Trumansburg, NY resident Marc Devokaitis has enjoyed playing woodwinds and singing with numerous musical groups in a variety of styles including ska, free jazz, funk, west coast swing, big band swing, math rock, and dad rock. When he’s not making music he makes a living writing about birds.

Ted Caldwell fell in love with jazz and the acoustic bass while growing up in Western Canada. The instrument accompanied him on moves to Montreal and then to Ithaca, New York – where it unfortunately sat in the basement for a while. In recent years the romance was rekindled, and Ted has enjoyed playing with a growing list of jazz and swing combos in and around Ithaca, including Zingology, The Canaan Jazz Trio, Doc’sology, De Wayne Perry & Friends, and in the “Sandwich Sessions” with Jesse Collins and others at Brookton’s Market. He attended Nutana Collegiate, studied at the University of Saskatchewan and McGill University, and is an avid bicyclist and hiker.

De Wayne Perry was born in Little Falls, NY, and now lives in Ithaca. He lived (and played) for many years in the Seattle and Denver-Boulder areas, and now performs with various jazz musicians throughout the Finger Lakes region. His long love affair with modern jazz began when he was a student at Utica College of Syracuse University in the late sixties and early seventies.
