Chiticalla, a dynamic group united by their love for music that speaks to the soul, specializes in performing Latin American music known for its enchanting melodies and meaningful lyrics. The group features Colombian singer Camila Ospina Fadul, gifted guitarist Keith Dudinski, electrifying violist Rita Monahan, and the exceptional percussionist Steve Imbruglia.
Camila and Keith first began their journey as a duo in 2018, brought together by a shared admiration for Juan Luis Guerra’s beautiful song “Amapola.” This moment marked the beginning of their artistic vision: to create music that is not only melodically captivating but also lyrically profound. Later on, Steve and Rita joined the ensemble, completing the group’s unique sound.
Since then, Chiticalla has performed on a wide variety of stages, from intimate private events and cozy restaurants to larger venues like Perinton Center Stage, where they appeared as guest artists of their close friend Daniel King—the very person who introduced Camila and Keith, sparking both their friendship and musical partnership.
Camila’s journey into music began at a young age, with her voice as her first and most powerful instrument. An Eastman School of Music postgraduate, she is a classically trained singer with extensive experience and training in a variety of popular music styles. While her foundation lies in classical singing, her true passion has always been for soulful music, particularly in Spanish. This is the music that speaks directly to the heart, stirring emotions, and connecting with life’s most intimate moments—its joys, sorrows, and everything in between.
Camila’s versatile repertoire spans a variety of genres, including heartfelt ballads, romantic boleros, and the smooth rhythms of bossa nova. She also brings her unique style to soft rock in Spanish and popular Latin American music, creating an emotional bridge between cultures through songs that evoke deep reflection and celebration. It’s the kind of music that resonates deeply, allowing listeners to feel understood, celebrated, and comforted.
